Die-casting molds require daily maintenance and storage to ensure the service life. If improper cleaning or disassembly and installation cause a collision, the die-casting mold will be damaged. Here is how to maintain and store the die-casting mold.
Maintenance of die-casting molds
1. Improper loading or unloading during maintenance and cleaning is one of the main reasons for damage to the die-casting mold. Therefore, the disassembly and cleaning of the die-casting mold should be completed by professionals.
2. The combined surface (sealing surface) of the die head can be cleaned with fine oil stone or metallographic sandpaper.
3. Before the die-casting mold is assembled, the flow channel should be polished to a low roughness with metallographic sandpaper and coated with a thin layer of silicone ester in order to reduce the corrosion of gas and water to protect the flow channel during long-term storage.
4. During the assembly process, all bolts, screw bearing surfaces and threads must be coated with high temperature grease (7020).
5. When disassembling the die-casting mold, care should be taken to avoid collision; when installing, the installation should be arranged according to the sequence number.
Storage of die casting molds
1.The die-casting mold should be stored in a dry, clean and ventilated warehouse, and it is strictly prohibited to store it with the corrosive products in the same warehouse;
2. After the die-casting mold is used, it must be cleaned and reassembled. After oil seal, store in the warehouse;
3. The die-casting mold should be stored on a dedicated mold storage rack to ensure safe placement and easy access.
